Anne Hathaway stumps Kelly Clarkson with early identification of ‘Since U Been Gone’.

Kelly Clarkson failed to recognize one of her most popular songs during a game of Sing That Name That Tune on Tuesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

While facing off against Anne Hathaway during the segment, in which she competes with guests to be the first to identify a song and sing it, the 39-year-old talk singer collapsed to the floor after the actress started belting out her 2004 hit single Since U Been Gone.

After glaring at The Devil Wears Prada star, 39, from the ground, she picked herself up and threw her arms up in frustration.  ‘

Embarassing: Kelly Clarkson failed to recognize one of her most popular songs during a game of Sing That Name That Tune on Tuesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show

‘How did you know it from just that?’ Clarkson asked Hathaway, who put a name to the track after just just the opening notes.

‘Kelly Clarkson, if you do not understand how much we all loved that song,’ the Oscar winner said with a smile. ‘Everybody here knew it on the first one. Everybody here knew it!’

Still defeated from the loss, Clarkson replies: ‘Should I just quit? This is embarrassing… Whatever, I’m so happy for you. Jesus, take the wheel.’

At that point in the game, Hathaway was leading the score 4 to 0.

The band specifically played Since U Been Gone after Clarkson asked them to please ‘play a fricking song’ she would know.

The hilarious moment comes after Clarkson explained why she recently requested to legally change her name.

‘Kelly Clarkson, if you do not understand how much we all loved that song,’ the Oscar winner said with a smile. ‘Everybody here knew it on the first one. Everybody here knew it!’

Last month it emerged she had filed to legally change her name to Kelly Brianne, her first and middle names.

But in a new interview she has clarified that the name change is simply for her personal life, and quipped that it is ‘too late’ to change her public name now.

Talking to People (the TV Show!) she joked: ‘I don’t think I can change Clarkson at this point. I’m 20 years in!’

The news that she wanted to change her name came in the wake of her tumultuous divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

Pushing through: Still defeated from the loss, Clarkson replies: ‘Should I just quit? This is embarrassing… Whatever, I’m so happy for you. Jesus, take the wheel’

‘I just got divorced, so I had to drop my married last name,’ she noted. ‘I just kept my middle name for my personal life. I’m still Kelly Clarkson.’

Kelly made the clarification this Monday at the red carpet premiere of American Song Contest, the reality competition show she co-hosts with Snoop Dogg for NBC.

She herself became a star after winning the first season of American Idol all the way back in 2002, when the show was on Fox.
