Carmelo Anthony Shifts the Spotlight From LeBron James and Himself Amid Sons’ Impressive EYBL Stint

Bryce James and Kiyan Anthony were in a face-off recently, and Carmelo Anthony is in no mood to be dragged into the spotlight because of it. LeBron James‘ 16-year-old son, playing from SFG in EYBL, faced Kiyan’s Team Melo in the third session. So far in the league, both NBA stars have been supporting their sons, often with their on-court presence. So their sons playing against each other could have been an easy opportunity for the media to make this about LeBron and Melo.

In fact, the official Instagram page of ‘Ballislife’ posted a photo titled “LEBRON VS CARMELO.” Meanwhile, the caption to the post read, “LEBRON 🆚 CARMELO WAS 🔥 @nikeeyb… The sons of future NBA Hall of Famers faced of in an INTENSE matchup at Nike EYBL… In the end Bryce James, Brayden Burries, and SFG came out with the win.” The former New York Knicks star was quick enough to settle this down with a humorous approach. “Me and Bron didn’t play lol,” Carmelo Anthony commented under the post.

Notably, Bron and Melo are age-old friends, back even before they debuted in the NBA. And the whole basketball community knows them as the members of the Banana Boat Crew, along with Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul. So it is obvious that neither of them would want any friction just because their kids played against each other. In fact, as per media reports, both stars shared moments of camaraderie on the sidelines during the recent EYBL game.

Speaking of the game between Bryce and Kiyan, LeBron James was seen guiding his son and team, and it seems it worked in the favor of SFG. They emerged victorious over Team Melo with a 71-65 score. However, in terms of individual performance, Kiyan surpassed Bryce with his 18 points against the SFG star’s 8. And this is not a one-time occurrence but Kiyans’ consistency in EYBL.
