The field for the Memorial Tournament, scheduled from June 6 to 9 at Muirfield Village in Ohio, has been unveiled. 71 players are confirmed for this 7th Signature Event of the PGA Tour season, including Matthieu Pavon, ranked 12th in the FedEx Cup.

Three of the four invitations have been awarded to Billy Horschel, Matt Kuchar, and Brandt Snedeker. Will the last one go to Tiger Woods? The list of participants, officially released this Friday, does not confirm – for now – the presence of the former world number one, who has won the tournament five times (1999, 2000, 01, 09, and 12).

Among the 71 names disclosed, we find Scottie Scheffler, cleared of any suspicion after his dramatic arrest on the morning of the 2nd round of the PGA Championship on May 17, as well as Xander Schauffele, the winner of the 106th USPGA in history, and Matthieu Pavon, currently 12th in the FedEx Cup, who will make his return to competition at Jack Nicklaus’s course after two weeks of rest.

Three tournaments played in 2024… Three of the four invitations have also been awarded. They have been given to Billy Horschel, 64th in the world rankings, Matt Kuchar, 101st in the world rankings, and Brandt Snedeker, 717th in the world rankings!

Who will receive the 4th and final invitation? Will it go to Webb Simpson, usually chosen much to the chagrin of social media? Or to Tiger Woods? The field will be final after the RBC Canadian Open this Sunday in Ontario…

Tiger did not make the cut in Louisville fifteen days ago after finishing 60th at the Masters on April 14. He withdrew after a few holes in the 2nd round of the Genesis Invitational (Signature Event) in February in Los Angeles. He also plans to compete in the US Open (June 13-16) at Pinehurst and The Open (July 18-21) at Troon, Scotland!
