Cardi B, who settled her lawsuit with her former manager, said she felt good about being free.

Cardi B responded with an enormous $30 million lawsuit to Klenord “Shaft” Raphael, her former manager, who attempted to get $10 million for his purported contribution to the rapper’s success. The musician herself confirms that AllHipHop reports that the legal exchange started in April 2018; nonetheless, it was only recently finally settled.

Cardi B retweeted yesterday’s report on the situation from Female Rap Room, saying, “Feels good to be free.”

Shaft stated that after he had supposedly secured Cardi B’s slot on Love & Hip Hop and used his own connections to negotiate with the publishers and producers of “Bodak Yellow,” she had “tossed their agreement aside to sign with Quality Control.”

Conversely, Cardi B claimed in her counterclaim that the agreement was unstable since she hadn’t had legal representation when she signed with Shaft. Additionally, she said that Shaft “broke their agreement” by “taking bigger chunks of her money illegally” due to improper bookkeeping.

According to paperwork AllHipHop was able to obtain, the suits have been dismissed with prejudice, making the matter moot. Shaft and Cardi B are unable to sue one another on the matter in the future. Everybody will cover their own expenses that arise during the procedure.

However, it appears that Cardi B has prevailed because Atlantic Records has lifted the hold on her income. It’s also said that the settlement dissolves the legal barriers created by the claims, which may allow for the publication of a new record.
