Cross Guild’s Role In The Final Saga, Explained

The Cross Guild is a newly created faction in the One Piece world that bears tremendous importance.

This exciting group of individuals was first introduced to the fans towards the end of the Wano Country arc. After the fall of Big Mom and Kaido either, a power vacuum was created, and this ended up being filled by the Straw Hat Pirates, and of course, a new organization that emerged out of nowhere, called Cross Guild.

Many important changes led to the creation of the Cross Guild, and now, this organization is making waves, particularly being the biggest threat to the Navy at the moment. The Cross Guild has an incredibly important role to play in the Final Saga, and fans will see more of them in the chapters to come.

What Is The Cross Guild?

The Cross Guild Is A New Organization That Is Led By A Yonko

The Cross Guild is quite an exciting organization that came into existence after the abolition of the Shichibukai system. The Shichibukai once existed as allies of the World Government, however, in truth, they never really helped out the Government in their moment of need, outside from maybe one or two occasions. After the abolition of the Shichibukai system, things changed quite a bit in the world of One Piece. One of the most unexpected things that took place after this system was abolished was the creation of an alliance between three members of the former Warlords. These were Buggy the Clown, Dracule Mihawk, the world’s strongest swordsman, and Sir Crocodile, the former leader of the crime syndicate known as Baroque Works.

It seems the Cross Guild company he leads has started putting bounties on Navy heads.

These three joined forces to create the Cross Guild. To the rest of the world, Buggy appeared to be the leader of this incredible organization, and the fact that he had the likes of Mihawk and Crocodile under him only meant that he was made an Emperor of the Sea. As was evident to the fans, the truth was something much deeper. In reality, the Cross Guild is primarily created by Crocodile, who sought out Mihawk, and these two joined forces and created an alliance. Buggy owed Crocodile quite a lot of money, and when he went to exact his toll, Buggy ended up in his service.

Of course, the world perceived this as Buggy becoming their leader, and the posters that Buggy’s underlings made for him did not help him either. Even the poster made it seem like Buggy was the leader of the organization, and in the end, Mihawk and Crocodile decided to run with it as well. This was primarily done because they believed that putting Buggy as the face of the Cross Guild would benefit them and help them do things from behind the shadows. Ever since then, the Cross Guild has been established as an incredible force on the seas, which is now comparable to the group of a Yonko, at the very least. Of course, the Cross Guild are going to play a massive role in the story moving forward, and fans are incredibly excited to see what Oda has in store for them in the Final Saga. The fact that they have been introduced so late into the story means that they will serve a very important purpose later down the line.

The very first thing that fans need to keep in mind when it comes to the Cross Guild is that they have bad blood with the Navy. The Cross Guild is notoriously hunting down Marines. In fact, they have completely changed the bounty system of the One Piece world and actively placed bounties on the heads of the naval officers. While the bounty hunters, at one point, hunted down just the Pirates, now, the Marines are haunted just as much as them, which is completely shifted bounty hunting in the One Piece world. The Cross Guild has placed bounties on every Marine, with each star representing 100 million berries, and each crown representing a billion berries.

The Role Of The Cross Guild In The Final Saga

The Cross Guild Will Be Gunning For The One Piece

The Cross Guild is sure to play an important role in the Final Saga, and much of that has already been played out. For instance, fans already know that the Cross Guild are hunting down marines. The Marines themselves cannot let this slide either. This means that, at some point in the story, the Cross Guild is most likely going to confront the Marines, or at least part of them. When it comes to why the Cross Guild are hunting down the Marines, one simply needs to look at the likes of Dracule Mihawk. He was betrayed by the Marines at some point.

Come over to my side, Hawk Eyes. WIth our combined name value, the Navy will have to sit up and take notice.

What exactly this betrayal was, fans do not know at this point. Furthermore, Crocodile too was betrayed at some point in the past, and this led to him not trusting anyone, just like Mihawk. That said, Crocodile’s betrayal could or couldn’t have come from the Marines. Fans do not know much about it, other than the fact that it led to him having trust issues.

Coming back to the incredible battle of the Marines and the Cross Guild, fans know for sure that they will end up facing off at some point in the story. As the likes of Crocodile and Mihawk are part of the Cross Guild, fans will likely see a Marine Admiral being sent to the island to deal with them. This will mark an important event in One Piece if it only adds to the turbulence across the season at this point. Inadvertently, the Cross Guild taking down a part of the Marines will only go on to aid the Straw Hat Pirates. Fans already know that the Marines are a thorn in the side of the Straw Hats at this point in time, and with the Five Elders and many other world Government officials being added into the mix in the Final Saga, the Cross Guild taking down a sizeable chunk of the marines with certainly benefit Luffy and his group.

Furthermore, Buggy and the Cross Guild recently announced that they were actively hunting down the One Piece. While Crocodile and Mihawk did not have any such ambition, Buggy surpassed them in terms of ambition and is now actively gunning for treasure that was left behind on Laugh Tale. As such, fans will most definitely see Buggy and the Cross Guild more often, just like Blackbeard. Given how Buggy has always failed upwards, fans might actually be surprised to see him reach the pinnacle of the world and get as close to Roger’s treasure as possible. No matter which way fans look at it, the Cross Guild has a massive role to play in the final saga as they continue their hunt for the One Piece.
