Damian Priest is the world champion of Raw, but he is struggling to prove that. Even the man he defeated at Backlash feels like a bigger star than him.
The problem is that, outside of Rhea Ripley, The Judgment Day members have not come off as top stars in years. However, that could change with the right booking.
This week was a positive step as Priest delivered one of his best promos to date, running down Drew McIntyre better than anyone but CM Punk has managed.
He came off as a babyface in this angle. That may not last as it’s likely Priest and McIntyre will fight at Clash in the Castle on June 15 in Glasgow, Scotland where The Scottish Warrior will be the clear crowd favorite.
Still, Priest showed why he is ready to lean into the support of the crowd when The Judgment Day do fall apart.
In fact, he may not feel like a top guy until that happens. In that role, though, he can regain the credibility he lost in 2023.
