Mike Trout Sends Powerful Message To Everyone On Memorial Day

Angels outfielder Mike Trout had a message for all those who gave their lives for our country this Memorial Day.

Taking to social media, the three-time MVP said: “Remembering the sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom. Forever grateful. #MemorialDay.”

Trout has always been vocal about his gratitude for the men and women who protect our country.

Back in 2017, the 11-time All-Star helped a member of the U.S. Navy surprise his family at Angel Stadium and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

The Angels won’t be playing this Memorial Day though as they have a scheduled day off before tomorrow night’s game vs. the New York Yankees.

Trout remains on the IL with a knee injury but he’s reportedly been working out on the elliptical and exercise bike and should soon progress to the treadmill, according to MLB.com.

Trout last played on April 29 against the Phillies before having to undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The 32-year-old says he feels “good” after the operation but still isn’t quite sure when he’ll be able to return to baseball activities.

“I’m feeling good,” Trout said. “Every day it’s getting better. … I’ve been doing a lot of stretching, a lot of different activities in the weight room. Nothing like running yet or jogging. But pretty close.”

“They have a plan for me, but we’re not there yet,” the centerfielder continued. “Just take it one day at a time and whenever it feels right, I’ll be out there.”
