One Piece: Oda Reveals Nika’s Origin Place

One Piece is currently in the Final Saga and fans are incredibly excited to witness the Egghead Island arc conclude, which it appears is going to happen very soon, given that Vegapunk’s message is now out in the open. In the previous chapter of the series, fans were able to get to the gist of Vegapunk’s massive message, which was pertaining to the sinking of the entire world.

Vegapunk revealed that the world was going to sink and this shocked every single fan of the series, and raised countless discussions among One Piece fans, in general. Of course, most fans knew that Vegapunk wasn’t done with his message. The previous chapter marked only the beginning of his message, and in One Piece chapter 1114, Vegapunk continued to deliver more information pertaining to some of the most important bits of One Piece, such as the character of Nika and his origins.

The Lore Of Joy Boy And Nika

Nika And Joy Boy Are Somewhat Similar Yet Different

Joy Boy has always been a very important character in One Piece. Fans have seen the first mention of Joy Boy being made long ago in the series, during the Fishman Island arc, where Nico Robin saw his apology on a Poneglyph. It was then made clear that Joy Boy was an individual on great terms with the Fishmen long ago and that he fought for their rights and wanted them to live on the surface with the rest of the races of the One Piece World. However, Joy Boy failed to fulfill his promise due to external circumstances, which the author will tackle more later down the line.

The star of this story was born 900 years ago in a bountiful and advanced kingdom. They called him Joy Boy!

In the Wano Country arc, fans found out a lot more information about the individual known as Joy Boy. There, it was made clear the Joy Boy would go on to change the world and would reappear later down the line. Even the likes of Roger and Oden knew that Joy Boy would come back once more, and that is precisely why Oden wanted to open the gates of Wano to herald his coming. At the end of the Wano Country arc, Joyboy finally descended upon the world again when Luffy awakened the power of his Devil Fruit and got access to Gear 5. Zunesha made it clear that the Drums of Liberation were heard for the very first time in 800 years and that Joy Boy had now returned to battle.

In the final saga of One Piece, Joy Boy was always going to be of paramount importance. Fans always knew that this individual was going to have his entire story get revealed in this part of the story, and thanks to the Egghead Island arc, this long and exciting process has already begun. In this saga, thanks to Dr Vegapunk, a lot of information pertaining to Joy Boy has already been made public. In One Piece chapter 1114, Vegapunk addressed the entire world and told them about the existence of Joy Boy, an individual who existed in the One Piece World nearly 900 years ago and stemmed from a very special Kingdom, which fans know as the Ancient Kingdom. According to Vegapunk, Joy Boy was an incredibly special individual who was also known as the Warrior of Liberation and the Sun God, Nika.

The Sun God would help all those in need and bring about laughter and joy wherever he went. Joy Boy always had a smile on his face, and with his rubbery body, he fought for the liberation of people all over the world. But, while Joyboy was Nika, the two are also different individuals at the same time. And if that wasn’t enough, then fans also found out about the origins of Nika, and at the same time, the race of this mysterious god as well.

Oda Confirms Nika To Be A God Of Giants

Nika, The Sun God, Hailed From The Land Of Elbaf

In One Piece chapter 1114, Oda has finally confirmed Nika to be a giant god of Elbaf. This hasn’t come as a surprise to the fans, given that most fans knew that Nika had some ties to Elbaf. There were only two main races that Nika could have belonged to. The first race was that of the Buccaneers, which were recently introduced in One Piece. There was a case to be made about Nika being a Buccaneer god, especially because of the importance Oda threw on this race recently. The straw hat that was found in Marijoa would have also fit a Buccaneer perfectly.

Just like the legendary Sun God Nika from the fables of Elbaf, he too fought with a stretchy and rubbery body!

The only other race that Nika could have belonged to would have been the race of the Giants. Oda has now confirmed that fans Nika was a god of the giants in One Piece chapter 1114. While Joy Boy might have been a Buccaneer, the God called Nika himself belongs to the giants, as his legends have hailed from Elbaf. This also explains the fact why the Sun God is revered so highly in this land and why they celebrate events such as the Winter Solstice, among other things.

Joy Boy And Elbaf

Is Joy Boy Linked To Elbaf?

As mentioned by Vegapunk himself, he does not know much about Joy Boy or the Ancient Kingdom. However, he is going to make public what little information he has to the world. That said, there are many individuals in the One Piece world who will reveal more information about Joy Boy and Nika to the world, and of course, these are the people of Elbaf. Nika has been confirmed to be a God who hailed from Elbaf and is tied to the race of the Giants. That in itself confirms the fact that Elbaf is going to be one of the biggest arcs in the entirety of One Piece, possibly being the biggest in terms of importance.

Fans also know that the Straw Hat Pirates are now headed to the land of the Giants, where Luffy, the Sun God, is going to get quite a lot of information pertaining to his very own power. On top of that, the Straw Hat Pirates, and by extension, the fans, will most likely also find out bits about the Void Century here, given that these people have likely kept the lore of Nika alive and well. It is going to be a very special arc that Oda is setting up now, and based on the information that was made public recently, the Elbaf Arc should start sometime in the fall of 2024.
